My experience with coding in The Digital Past has so far been neutral. On one hand, I enjoy learning coding and can see these skills being useful in the future. On the other hand, some aspects of coding have been frustrating and I have had to ask for assistance from my tablemates for setting up some of the settings and getting some of the code to work.
There is a quote In Hello Worlds by Matthew G. Kirschenbaum, he said: “All programming entails world-making”. meaning that programming involves the creation of worlds, so while we program, we create new virtual worlds. Unfortunately, there is no real argument against coding in A “Hello World” Apart by Evan Donahue so there is no soild argument against coding in this section of the blog.
During my junior year in high school, I took a computer class where we learned to code using Python creating various projects such as a slide show. During that time, I also had neutral feeling about coding since prior to that class, I had no form of coding experience and when I learned I was going take that class, on one hand, I was intrested in learning how to code while on the other hand, I thought about what if coding was going to be difficult. Overall, I had netural feelings about coding and I currently still have neutral feelings about coding.
